Lecture by Nobel Prize in Economics Joseph Stiglitz
A Nobel Laureate committed to justice
Known for his work on information economics, global development, and inequality, as well as his roles in leading academic and multilateral institutions, Joseph F. Stiglitz — Nobel Laureate in Economics (2001), professor at Columbia University, and a global authority in his field — will deliver the lecture “Reflections on a New Economic and Social Model” at Deusto. He has served as Chief Economist of the World Bank, advisor to the White House, and is the author of key works such as The Price of Inequality and The Path to Freedom (2024).
This lecture is organised in collaboration with the Vizcaína Aguirre Foundation and reflects its commitment to bringing prestigious international speakers to Deusto Business School, contributing to a humanistic education that promotes human rights and fosters fairer and more sustainable leadership and economic practices.
Deusto at the Bilbao Kultura Social Forum
Among the expert participants at the Bilbao Kultura Social Forum is Lorena Fernández, head of Deusto’s Artificial Intelligence Committee — a reference point created at the University to guide its AI strategy ethically and responsibly, focusing on the impact of AI on education and knowledge. She will speak on 1 October at 11:00 a.m. at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao on “De aquellos sesgos, estos algoritmos”.
