Welcome international students to the institution in Bilbao

The University of Deusto is ready to welcome more than 500 new international students for the second semester of the 2024/25 academic year, which will begin on February 6. The students, coming from partner universities from nearly 50 different countries, will be distributed between the Bilbao (437 students) and San Sebastian (72 students) campuses, in addition to having participants in the Virtual Campus. Likewise, 98 students who arrived in September continue studying at the University of Deusto during the 2nd semester. Part of these international students come from the Erasmus+ mobility program, thus reinforcing the commitment of the University of Deusto to international and multicultural exchange. The Institutional Welcome Ceremony will take place on February 5 at 12:30 pm (CEST) at the Paraninfo of the Bilbao Campus. This event will be attended by the following authorities:

• Juan Mari Aburto, Mayor of Bilbao.
• Begoña de Ibarra, General Director of Culture of the Provincial Council of Biscay
• Aitziber Irigoras, Vice Chancellor for University Community and Agenda 2030 of the University of Deusto
• Marian Aláez, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of the University of Deusto.

In addition, several consuls general and honorary consuls based in Bilbao will attend. Afterwards, a lunch will be offered and the students will have the opportunity to get to know the city of Bilbao with Deusto students participating in the Buddy Program.
