The first semester of the 2022/23 academic year will start on Monday, 5 September. Throughout the first week, the University of Deusto will welcome its international students with different welcome sessions provided by tutors for academic guidance, and by the International Relations Office and Deusto Campus on extracurricular activities.

The Institutional Welcome Ceremony will be held on 5 September in the Ceremonial Hall on the Bilbao Campus at 12:30 pm (CEST), and on 8 September at 4:00 pm (CEST) in online mode.

The following authorities will be attending the on campus event: Amaia Arregi, Councillor for Public Safety and First Deputy Mayor, Xabier Arauzo, Director General for Basque of the Biscay Regional Council, Juanjo Etxeberria, Vice-Rector for University Community and Agenda 2030, and Alex Rayón, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Digital Transformation at the University of Deusto. Likewise, the general and honorary consuls based in Bilbao will be joining us.

In the first semester of the 2022/23 academic year, the University of Deusto will welcome more than 450 undergraduate and postgraduate students from more than 50 countries in the two types of exchange programmes it offers: face-to-face mode at the Bilbao Campus and virtual mode through the International Virtual Campus.

Deusto Virtual Campus is a digital space designed so that students from all over the world can have an international experience at Deusto and enjoy life on our two campuses (Bilbao and San Sebastian) and in our day-to-day university life. This mode, now in its fifth year, provides greater social inclusion, which will form part of the new university life in the future. Students will take one of the 12 virtual subjects offered, 8 in English and 4 in Spanish, of a transversal and multicultural nature.
