Developing teaching competencies for PhD students with a focus on pedagogical content knowledge (PCK): Case study of mathematics discipline

Dr. Azimehsadat Khakbaz is an assistant professor in Bu_Ali Sina University, Iran. Her major is higher education curriculum studies and her research interests include university teaching knowledge, faculty development and teaching assistants training, especially in mathematics as a discipline. Currently she is a visiting research scholar in Deusto International Tuning Academy, Deusto University, Bilbao, Spain.

Azimeh will present on university teaching competencies development with focus on PCK. She will present a conceptualization of university teaching competencies in the field of mathematics and explain how these competencies are being developed in mathematics PhD students as potentially future mathematics faculty members.
