EcoLoiola, 6 October – Care for Our Common Home Day

Next Monday, 6 October, we will celebrate Care for Our Common Home Day as part of EcoLoiola, an initiative promoted by the Loyola Apostolic Platform of the Society of Jesus to foster reflection, training, awareness, and joint action around creation and the care for our common home.

EcoLoiola seeks to bring together voices and efforts in defence of our planet from the perspective of justice, drawing inspiration from two writings by Pope Francis: the 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’ and the 2023 apostolic exhortation Laudate Deum.

This year’s focus is on how caring for our environment helps us reconcile with others and opens us to peace and reconciliation in a world scarred by violence.

We invite you to join us on Monday, 6 October, from 10:50 to 11:10 in the Cloister of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Auditorium).

We will share a moment of reflection for peace, including a symbolic gesture and the recitation of a prayer.

The event will conclude with the presentation of the Deusto Campus Book Exchange initiative, which encourages the sharing of books. We invite you to bring books related to peace, reconciliation, memory, and the care for our common home.
