In today’s global geopolitical scenario, we live in a more complex, uncertain and unpredictable world, where a new dimension of power relations is taking shape. The geostrategic rivalry between the great powers, as well as the changes in the political, economic and technological influence that China and Russia are gaining over the United States and the European Union, confirm that the change of era we are living through is marked by the emergence of a new geopolitical model that affects the interests and activities of the different actors involved in international relations.

The 4th SECURITY AND DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE “CHINA’S POWER IN THE NEW WORLD ORDER” has two aims.

On the one hand, to debate the opportunity to go beyond traditional approaches to security and understand the multiple aspects of China’s role in this new geopolitical model where, in addition to the traditional security issues, the struggle for control of energy resources, digital companies and emerging technologies in fields such as Big Data, 5G networks, the internet of things, etc., are taking on a prominent place. On the other hand, from a business point of view, the challenges posed by the necessary internationalisation in China will be analysed, as well as the possibilities of promoting business diplomacy as a value driver of the international presence of companies in the Asian giant.
