On 16-17 April, the Annual Conference of the European Law Faculties Association - ELFA will take place at the University of Deusto. ELFA brings together more than 150 law faculties, primarily from Europe, to share insights on legal education, interuniversity agreements, educational innovation, and academic collaboration.

Each year, ELFA also awards a European prize for the best doctoral thesis in European law and sponsors the European Journal of Legal Education, an open-access, peer-reviewed journal. In addition, it collaborates with other associations such as the Southeastern Association of Law Schools (SEALS), the Association of American Law Schools (AALS), the European Law Institute (ELI), the Law Schools Global League (LSGL), the European Network of Clinical Legal Education (ENCLE), the Association of Law Teachers (ALT), the International Academy of Comparative Law, and the ELSA student association.

Deusto Law School joined ELFA in the 2014-2015 academic year and, as it holds the presidency for 2025–2026, will host this year’s annual session. The 2026 session will focus on “Artificial Intelligence and Legal Education” and will also include participation from the University of Deusto’s AI Committee. The opening lecture will be delivered by Ricardo Devis, an expert in generative AI.
