LASI 2015 Bilbao: Learning Analytics Summer Institute

Learning Analytics (LA) is a research area that brings together experts from various fields (educational technology, artificial intelligence, education, data mining, psychology, etc.) and managers, administrators, public administrations and companies related to formal and informal education. One of its main objectives is to maximise the increasing amount of data that teachers and students provide when they interact with educational technology. However, LA has also created great expectations on the possibility of adapting students’ learning, developing recommender systems, personalising learning or educational assessment. Ultimately, there is an interesting debate on the impact of LA on education.

Supported by Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), the Learning Analytics Summer Institutes (LASI) has become an international network of events in the last two years, aimed at raising awareness and building capacity, where both researchers and professionals can meet, share their work and forecast the future. A large number of international activities are held related to this event. LASI 2015 international meetings will be held at the University of Deusto, in collaboration with SNOLA, on 22 and 23 June at the Bilbao campus.
