Theatre performance: “El fantasma de la casa”

Deusto Campus Cultura invites you to a university theatre performance featuring the student company of Bilbao alumni, presenting El fantasma de la casa, an original production exploring the struggles of coming to terms with oneself and one’s surroundings. The performance will take place on Thursday, 11 November at 19:30 in the Ceremonial Hall. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.

Synopsis

Adela carries a past marked by violence: her mother’s partner turned a bright childhood into a true nightmare. Years later, despite leading an apparently stable life, her wounds remain open. In this tragedy, the audience follows Adela on her journey towards healing, confronting an unrelenting army—the ghosts of her childhood. At the forefront stands the spectre of the man who shaped her destiny with indelible scars. Yet Adela is no longer the helpless child she once was. She is a resourceful woman, a being who grows and learns that while the past cannot be erased, it can be reinterpreted. Her battle is not only against memories, but also towards forgiveness: forgiving a mother who could not protect her and recognising that both were victims of the same oppressor.
