NOHA Summer School on Humanitarian Protection

The University of Deusto and the NOHA network (Network on Humanitarian Action) will be holding the 2nd Summer School on Protection from 29 June to 3 July at the Bilbao campus.

This five-day course combines lectures, case studies and in-depth discussion on the main challenges and key issues on humanitarian protection. The protection of populations affected by crisis situations, such as armed conflicts or natural disasters, has become a key element of humanitarian action. Humanitarian agencies develop policies, manuals and guidelines on protection. However, their implementation remains a challenge due to, among other factors, the persistent ambiguity of the concept of protection, its complexity and, in many cases, the lack of external references and standards for implementation.

This course is mainly designed for people with experience in the field of humanitarian action.
