Pintxos & Drinks in Bilbao with Cristina Rico, champion of Euskadi XCM 2024
On November 27th, Deusto Business Alumni celebrated in Bilbao, the first Pintxos & Drinks with Bankoa ABANCA, a relaxed moment to have fun and disconnect.
On this occasion, we had the participation of Cristina Rico, champion of Euskadi XCM 2024 and manager at Abra Store International.
Cristina has always been clear that it is never too late to do everything you set out to do as long as you are excited and willing to sacrifice yourself for it.
At 42 years of age, this year she has become the Euskadi XC Marathon (mountain biking) champion after winning the Bizkaia XC Olympic and Marathon champion’s jersey on her debut in this discipline in 2023. In parallel she continues to participate in adventure raids; long distance multidisciplinary team sport, which involves navigation through unmarked natural environments, alternating sections of running, cycling, kayaking, climbing, canyoning, caving, rafting etc ….
Cristina will share her experiences in the world of competition and what she has learned in this short but intense journey through her successes and failures; reflections on motivation, discipline, sacrifice, mental self-boycott, strategy, her vision as a woman in sports and her concept of team among others. All these reflections can be extrapolated to the world of work, social and family life, which have enriched her both professionally and personally.
