Presentation of Leyre Arrieta’s book: ‘Al servicio de la causa vasca’ Biografía de F. J. Landaburu (1907-1963)

Leyre Arrieta, PhD in Contemporary History and lecturer at the University of Deusto, will be presenting this book, which contains the biography of the Basque nationalist politician Francisco Jabier Landaburu (1907-1963), who was a member of the Republican Parliament between 1933 and 1935 and became Deputy Prime Minister of the Basque Government between 1969 and 1963.

As a result of years of research, the author has had access to numerous unpublished documents, which has enabled her to complete and clarify some little-known passages in this author’s life, considered to be one of the main ideologists of moderate Basque nationalism.

At the book presentation, Leyre Arrieta will be also joined by José Antonio Rodríguez Ranz (Deputy Minister for Human Rights, Memory and Cooperation) and José Luis de la Granja (Professor of Contemporary History at the EHU/UPV).
