Political, regulatory, media and activist group actors shape, constrain, or expand the opportunities for profit available to businesses. In order to mitigate risks and capture attractive opportunities, every business must have a careful and intelligent plan for engaging with these actors. The Business in a Political Ageconference, followed by a more detailed workshop, provides a framework for doing so.

Leaders must have the most up-to-date understanding of the new strategies, tools and techniques that are being developed and employed to affect the legislative and political process. Without a clear understanding of them, you will be at a severe competitive disadvantage.

As America’s only school of applied politics, the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management (GSPM) is uniquely suited to deliver a program that combines academic rigor with hands-on know how from those who have led the way in the most consequential positions in American politics and government.

Hosted by Deusto University, these programs are offered as a result of long cooperation between both institutions. You will benefit from the combined insights of GSPM’s Director, Professor Mark Kennedy and GSPM Board Member, Michael Paese, global co-head of the Office of Government Affairs for Goldman Sachs. Kennedy previously served as a U.S. Congressman and as Treasurer for Macy’s. Paese previously served in senior staff roles for a U.S. House’s Financial Services Committee and a major trade association.
