19th Saint Francis Xavier Academic Debate League
The network of university centres affiliated with the Society of Jesus in Spain, UNIJES, is holding its annual Academic Debate League on 13 and 14 February at the Instituto Químico de Sarrià in Barcelona. In this 19th edition, participants will debate the question: Does scientific progress lead to human progress?
The academic debate league is organised in teams that defend positions for and against the motion before a panel of judges, composed of faculty and collaborators, who will assess participants’ research, argumentation, presentation, conclusion, and teamwork skills. The league’s purpose is educational, aiming to deepen students’ understanding of current issues while fostering critical thinking.
