Big Data application in strategic economic sectors

Big Data application in strategic economic sectors
10/27/2015
15:15 – 18:00
Garate Room. Avenida de las Universidades 24 48007 Bilbao

Big Data is starting to get into organisational business processes in a transversal way. It was initially used for specific purposes (avoid customer churn, improve marketing actions, etc.), and was mainly promoted by technical and technological teams in businesses. New analytical tools are being designed to meet business unit needs, with simple, useful and intuitive graphical interfaces. In this way, business users promote the adoption of Big Data solutions to support business decision-making.

The arrival of Big Data to business users is an opportunity to increase the number of users and broaden the scope of action. A growing number of suppliers, both of technological solutions and data aggregators, are therefore expected; all this without forgetting the importance of complying with IT governance policies, information and data protection and security risks.

This event will offer a number of solutions from the various sectors in which this Big Data application movement for business users is taking place. Some examples where we can see the above are loan granting in financial sectors, the enhancement of cultural objects, systems to avoid fraud, increased citizen security, or the improvement of sales systems at airports. In this way, we will see how fast Big Data is being embraced by organisations and the mechanisms to implement transversal solutions in organisations.
