Lecture: “Beneficios del aceite de oliva para la salud” by Antonio Escribano
As part of the lecture series “Sumar vida a nuestros años”, the Pedro Fabro Association of Retired Members of the University of Deusto will hold the talk “Beneficios del aceite de oliva para la salud” by Antonio Escribano on 28 April at 11:30 in the Garate Room.
About the series
In today’s world, it is a fact that people are living longer. We are certainly adding years to life — a remarkable achievement largely due to medical advances, improvements in public health, personal care, and better social conditions.
What is less certain, however, is that those extra years are truly full of life. Existing happens by itself, but learning to live is a conscious and active choice. Learning to live means developing our potential to become fulfilled, happy, joyful, and compassionate people. Learning to live is not about having more, but about being more — and that is what fills our years with life.
The lecture series is open to the general public in Bilbao and nearby areas.
Registration is free.

Workshop on Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection: regulatory challenges and ethical governance
The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence presents new legal, ethical, and social challenges. Its development and application across different sectors require careful consideration of how to ensure responsible use of technology while safeguarding fundamental rights and individual privacy.
This workshop on “Artificial Intelligence and Data Protection: Regulatory Challenges and Ethical Governance”, organised by the Basque Country Territorial Group of APEP·IA and the University of Deusto, aims to analyse the impact of recent regulatory developments at both European and national levels and to discuss their practical implications. Through two roundtable discussions, professionals and academics will share their expertise and perspectives on the European Regulation 2024/1689 on Artificial Intelligence (AI Act) and the Draft Bill on the Proper Use and Governance of AI.
The event seeks to provide a space for dialogue and learning, enabling a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of artificial intelligence within a robust legal and ethical framework.
