STEAM Meetings
STEAM Meetings
On 26 and 27 November, the Bilbao Campus of the University of Deusto will host an innovative academic guidance activity organised in collaboration with Elhuyar and Innobasque – Basque Innovation Agency. The initiative, based on a speed-meeting format, will allow 4th year secondary students to hold 15-minute meetings with professionals from the STEAM fields.
During these brief sessions, students will gain first-hand insight into different career paths, ask questions about educational routes in the science and technology sector, and explore potential vocations. As part of the day, they will also visit various campus laboratories to experience the practical side of STEAM disciplines.
Voices from the darkness (Bilbao campus)
Voices from the darkness (Bilbao campus)
On the occasion of International Human Rights Day, the University of Deusto, in collaboration with the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Foundation, is pleased to invite you to the staged reading “Voices from the Darkness”, which will take place simultaneously on the Bilbao and San Sebastián campuses on December 10.
This work, written by award-winning playwright Ariel Dorfman and inspired by Kerry Kennedy’s book Speak Truth To Power, presents the testimonies of 37 human rights defenders from around the world.
Through the voices of young students from the University of Deusto, we will hear stories that speak of courage and resilience in the face of various human rights violations: from freedom of expression, environmental protection, and the right to a fair trial, to the abolition of forced labor, freedom of religion, and women’s rights.
In the words of Ariel Dorfman: “Voices that are like a blessing from the darkness. I have devoted my entire life to finding the words that would allow me to explore the immense pulse of human suffering and the complex enigmas of evil.”
Due to limited capacity, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance by completing the registration form below. Deadline: Wednesday, December 3 (inclusive).
