#DISRUPTIVE lecture series with Lorenzo Fluxá, New Business Manager at Camper- Cartujano
Last century, economist Schumpeter named the activities carried out by these entrepreneurs as creative destruction. The visibility that entrepreneurs have ultimately achieved has led to identify only disruptive innovations with ICTs. In order to break with this erroneous idea, Deusto Business School has implemented the #Disruptive lecture series, which aims to share ground-breaking experiences in traditional industries such as leisure, tourism, agriculture, trade or health care.
We will hear entrepreneurial stories every month with an evening coffee at Deusto Business School at Castelló Street 76 in Madrid. This time the guest speaker is Lorenzo Fluxá, BA in Business Administration and MBA from the Instituto de Empresa. He joined Camper in 2003, now being manager of new businesses like Cartujano. Camper is a Majorca-based business created in 1975 by Lorenzo Fluxá Rosselló. Its origins date back to 1877, when his grandfather Antonio, artisan shoemaker, opened Spain’s first mechanised shoe factory in Inca (Majorca). While maintaining respect for the inherited values, Camper was born to be a brand concept encompassing comfort and industrial and graphical design, which have lain at the root of the concept from its beginnings. In 1992, it began its international expansion opening the first shop in Paris and in 2004, it started its diversification into the accommodation sector with Casa Camper. 138 years later, Camper is still today a family business operating in more than 60 countries. Lorenzo Fluxá Ortí is a member of the family’s fourth generation.
