Conference: “Women on the move: Violence and displacement in 5 African regions”
In the Democratic Republic of the Congo alone, there are more than 5 million people, mostly women, who are in that situation.
On the way to Europe, refugees in neighbouring countries or displaced in their own country, these women live situations of extreme vulnerability and violence, without access to the most fundamental rights.
The aim of the International Conference entitled, “Women on the move: Violence and displacement in 5 African regions” is to shed light on women’s situation and demands, share the results of assessments made, and reflect on the improvements we need to make in our practices to face that reality.
With this aim in mind, this event will be attended by leading human rights and women’s rights activists such as Ugandan Victoria Nyanjura, Congolese Justine Masika and Caddy Adzuba or Itziar Ruiz Gimenez, among others, as well as representatives from the university world, public institutions, African organisations and international humanitarian aid organisations.
