Described as “the most relevant living philosopher” (Newsweek), Michael Sandel is not only renown for teaching political philosophy at Harvard University, but also for bringing reflection to a global audience, raising ethical questions in open and public debates, in which he promotes dialogue among the audience. In Brazil, he led a debate on corruption and the ethics of daily life that reached a television audience of 19 million, and in his talk in Seoul 14,000 people came to hear him speak. He was awarded the Princess of Asturias Award for Social Sciences 2018, his writings on justice, ethics, democracy and markets have been translated into 29 languages, and his legendary course “Justice” (the first Harvard course to be made freely available online) is followed by tens of millions of people.
