University of Deusto to host Cyber-Resistance Conference addressing gender digital divides in childhood
On 23 June, the Barandiarán Room at the University of Deusto will host the Cyber-Resistance Conference, a space for discussion, dissemination, and reflection on the gendered digital risks affecting children. This event is part of the research project CyberResistance: Addressing the Third Gender Digital Divide and Cyberviolence in Childhood — Coeducation, Opportunities and Resistance, led by the Deusto Social Values team and funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation through the RETOS 2022 programme.
The conference has multiple aims: firstly, to raise awareness and train primary school teachers on gender biases reproduced in children’s digital environments; secondly, to share preliminary results from the project with the educational community; and finally, to create an inter-institutional collaborative space to debate and design prevention and intervention strategies against gender-based cyberviolence, approached from educational and coeducational perspectives.
The day will feature a mix of institutional sessions, expert contributions, and dialogue spaces with participating teachers. The programme is organised as follows:
