Itxaso Berrojalbiz, Provincial Deputy for Finance and Treasury of Biscay, will preside over the presentation of the academic paper “Blazing the trail: Describing and assessing a new policy instrument whereby indirect tax incentives fuel collaborative innovation", which will take place on 6 November at B Accelerator Tower.

The study, produced by the University of Deusto in collaboration with Henry Chesbrough, provides a rigorous analysis of Biscay’s 64Bis policy, highlighting its pioneering role as an indirect tax incentive for R&D and its capacity to generate collaborative innovation ecosystems between developers and funders.

This event is held within the framework of the WOIC – World Open Innovation Conference, bringing together over 150 academics and open innovation experts from around the world in Bilbao.

The presentation will also feature Macarena Cuenca, Dean of Deusto Business School, and Henry Chesbrough, professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and internationally recognised as the father of open innovation, along with other representatives from the Treasury and the University of Deusto.

The event will conclude with the World Open Innovation Conference awards ceremony, followed by a cocktail reception.
