Training for Peace: Training Responses to Challenges in Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding
Training for Peace: Training Responses to Challenges in Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding
As we approach the celebration of the International Day of Peace, the University of Deusto and PeaceTraining.eu are pleased to invite you to our new seminar “Training for Peace: Training Responses to Challenges in Conflict Prevention and Peacebuilding”
Taking into consideration the current challenges confronted by international and local stakeholders in the construction of peace and the transformation of conflicts, the aim of this seminar would be to identify conflict prevention and peacebuilding (CPPB) training gaps and flaws in order to advance on their possible solutions. This event will bring together local experts on CPPB representing the different sectors engaged in the promotion and construction of peace (political, military, humanitarian aid, human rights, civil society, educational system, etc.).
The seminar would be organised as a round-table discussion divided in two panels: a first panel dedicated to training solutions to challenges confronted by international stakeholders engaged in peacebuilding missions; and a second panel centred on the training experience and responses of local stakeholders in countries and territories affected by conflict.
PeaceTraining.eu project aims at optimizing EU’s training capacity in this field, adapting it to the reality of peacebuilding on the ground and contributing to respond to present and future peace challenges. To achieve its goal, the project seeks to involve experts and actors in the identification of challenges, gaps and the elaboration of novel responses to training needs in this area.
