We celebrate the III edition of the solidarity campaign “Share culture, give knowledge” in the campus of Donostia - San Sebastian.
What do we want to achieve?
1. Promote the reuse and reuse of all those books that we no longer use.
2. Promote values such as solidarity, culture, cooperation and recycling of books.
3. Donate the proceeds to social projects of the university.
How can you do it?
1. You can donate as many books as you want.
2. With all the donated books we will organize a “solidarity market” where you can buy the books for a symbolic price.
You can drop off your books now!!!
Donate your books from October 24 to November 15, 2024 at the offices of Deusto Alumni (Arrupe Building, office 223) and Deusto Campus (Antxieta Building).
Pick up hours: 9:00 - 13:00 / 15:00 - 17:00
Come to the “Solidarity Book Market” on November 26th and 27th that will take place in the hallway of the Manuel Larramendi Building.

The Spanish Olympic Committee, in collaboration with the University of
Deusto, Iberdrola, and with the support of Olympic Solidarity from the International Olympic Committee, is organizing an event to promote equality in sports.
Objective: to continue advancing gender equality in sports, fostering dialogue and raising awareness about the importance of equity at all levels of sport. This event represents a unique opportunity to move towards a more inclusive and fair sporting environment.

From the University of Deusto we have organized the Opening Ceremony of the I International Meeting of the Innovation and Global Entrepreneurship Network (RIEG) Deusto-Bizkaia, which will take place on November 18 at 16:00 in the Auditorium of the University of Deusto.
The Deusto-Bizkaia Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network is an initiative led by the University of Deusto, with the support of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia through the talent attraction initiative “Bizkaia with the talent” and in cooperation with the universities of the AUSJAL Network - Association of Universities Entrusted to the Society of Jesus in Latin America, to identify and attract to the Territory Latin American people with STEM profiles, who can collaborate in the activation and acceleration of innovation areas of leading companies in Bizkaia.
This meeting aims to bring together all the agents involved -participants, institutions, companies and universities- in this project and to kick off the First International Meeting of the RIEG Deusto-Bizkaia, which will take place the week of November 18-22.

La Universidad de Deusto en colaboración con la Cadena SER Euskadi te invita al seminario Aula Abierta sobre los discursos antifeministas que se basa en un estudio recientemente publicado con Emakunde-Instituto Vasco de la Mujer "Erresistentzia antifeministak eduki digitalean" (Resistencias antifeministas en contenidos digitales), resultado de la beca de investigación en materia de igualdad de mujeres y hombres.
Tendrás la oportunidad de debatir junto con profesionales de la comunicación de la Cadena SER e investigadores e investigadoras de Deusto sobre los retos que plantean los discursos de odio contra las mujeres, la desinformación de género y sus consecuencias para la democracia, así como cuál es el papel que desempeñan los medios, las plataformas y los y las usuarias en su difusión o su mitigación".

During her visit to the Bilbao campus of the University of Deusto, the lawyer and activist Kerry Kennedy, daughter of the renowned US Senator Robert F. Kennedy, will talk to us about the human rights work carried out by the RFK Human Rights Foundation, of which she is president, and whose actions include demanding governmental accountability for serious and systematic human rights violations.
Following her lecture, Kerry Kennedy, in dialogue with Professor Felipe Gómez Isa, will examine in depth the current situation of vulnerability of human rights in an increasingly polarised world. An exceptional opportunity to get closer to the legacy of one of the most relevant political dynasties in the history of the United States.

Forum on Sustainable Development Goals “Connecting Academic Research and Policy Solutions for SDG Localization”
The University of Deusto and the United Nations Local2030 will held the 2024 Forum on Sustainable Development Goals “Connecting Academic Research and Policy Solutions for SDG Localization”, where representatives of the United Nations and various territorial administrations, as well as leading international researchers and academics, will address substantive aspects of the 2030 Agenda: a) the challenges of localizing the global SDG agenda; b) how to strengthen the university's role in shaping public policy.
In line with the six key transitions identified by the United Nations, the forum will be structured around four main panels: Quality Education; Inequality and Social Protection; Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence; and Climate Action with a focus on the transition of energy and food systems.

On 5 November, elections will be held in the United States, an event whose repercussions will transcend the country's borders, and whose outcome will have a major impact on the future of geopolitics at a global level in the coming years.
Aware of the importance of this historic moment, DeustoForum is pleased to invite you to a dialogue between Aimar Bretos, renowned journalist and director of the programme Hora 25 on Cadena Ser, and David Coury, professor at the University of Wisconsin, who will help us to decipher issues related to national and international politics, campaign strategies and messages, media coverage and the electoral process.
In this sense, the dialogue will delve into how the campaign has changed since the replacement of Biden by Harris, how each candidate is running, how the voting system works in the USA, what are the so-called swing states, the most important issues at stake depending on the result, the influence of the result of the US elections on the rest of the world and who is going to win the elections, among others.

Javier de Andrés, candidato a Lehendakari por el PP, visita el Colegio Mayor
El próximo 15 de octubre el Colegio Mayor recibe en su próxima comida coloquio a Javier de Andrés Guerra, (Vitoria, 3 de octubre de 1967), periodista y político español del Partido Popular del País Vasco que fue Diputado General de Álava entre 2011 y 2015. Después fue nombrado delegado del Gobierno en el País Vasco. En 2018 retomó su actividad profesional como periodista publicando artículos en distintos medios. En 2023 vuelve a la política llegando a ser propuesto como candidato a Lehendakari por el PP en 2024.
