From 6 September and throughout the week, the University of Deusto will be welcoming its international students with various induction sessions.  In the first semester of the 2021/22 academic year, the University of Deusto will welcome more than 300 students to the Bilbao Campus in face-to-face format and 60 in virtual format. Undergraduate and postgraduate students from more than 25 countries, in the two modes offered by the University: International Virtual Campus and students with adapted face-to-face attendance.

Deusto Virtual Campus is a digital space designed so that students from all over the world can have an international experience at Deusto that allows them to live life on our two campuses (Bilbao and San Sebastian) and in our day-to-day university life. This mode, which is now in its third year, generates greater social inclusivity, which will form part of the new university life in the future.

More than 90 on campus exchange students at the Bilbao Campus will also be taking some of the 16 cross-cutting and multicultural subjects offered at the International Virtual campus, in a hybrid format.

During the welcome sessions, both online and face-to-face students will receive guidance on the University of Deusto and their host city from the International Relations Office (ORI) and Deusto Campus.

The Institutional Welcome Ceremony will be held on 9 September at 12:30 (CET) in the Auditorium of the Bilbao Campus, and on 10 September at 13:30 (CET) in online format. These events will be attended by the Rector of the University of Deusto, José María Guibert, the Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University of Deusto, Alex Rayón, the General Director of Culture of the Biscay Regional Council and the Mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, as well as the virtual greeting of the consuls of Bilbao.
