An introduction to the special relationship between painting and fashion in the first half of the 20th century, mainly through the work of three creators: painter Joaquín Sorolla, the also painter and designer Mariano Fortuny and designer Cristóbal Balenciaga.
The aims are to:
- Get to know some of Joaquín Sorolla’s works as a portrait painter and his special connection with the fashion at the time.
- Learn about the main contributions made by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo, as a designer, to the history of fashion and the reflection of all this in his painting.
- Discover the influence of the great masters of Spanish painting on some of the creations of fashion designer Cristóbal Balenciaga.
