The UACES Conference will bring together 600 experts at Deusto to take a closer look at the European Union

The University Association of Contemporary European Studies (UACES) will be holding its 45th annual conference at the University of Deusto from 7 to 9 September. This conference will be attended by more than 600 participants and a total of 595 papers will be presented, grouped around 155 round table discussions and 3 plenary sessions.


The conference programme will address a wide range of themes, including relevant issues such as EU’s migrants right to vote, the radical left and the financial crisis, gender equality in the EU, the European policy on renewable energies, the responses to crisis in Southern Europe (extremist parties, populism, parliamentarism), the EU and football, the policy on higher education in a changing world, Germany’s role in the EU or nationalist parties in Europe.

The Faculty of Law has led the organisation of this important academic event since it was chosen as a venue among eight European universities in May 2013. The UACES conference will provide a special opportunity to present the research results obtained at the University of Deusto, as more than 20 researchers (15 from the Faculty of Law) will present papers at UACES Conference.

UACES (University Association for Contemporary European Studies) is a EU entity that promotes knowledge and interdisciplinary research on the European Union, through the organisation of events, co-funding of research activities and the publication of books and journals such as the Journal of Contemporary European Research and the Journal of Common Market Studies (JCR 2014: I.P. 1.855).
