Next Monday 20 July, the University of Deusto will be hosting the presentation of the 2nd Kingdom of Spain Award to Business Career, which will be attended by King Philip VI, together with Rector José María Guibert and the Basque President Iñigo Urkullu.

This year’s award, which was established by the Basque Entrepreneurs Association, the Entrepreneurs Association and the Economic Association, will be granted to Freixenet’s honorary president, José Ferrer Sala. This award, consisting of a reproduction of the Medal of Merit from the times of Charles III, whose original dates back to 1764, recognises the career and example for future generations of a relevant entrepreneur who has carried out outstanding work in Spain with regard to job creation, investment and internationalisation and his/her contribution to progress and welfare of Spanish society as a whole.

The judging panel awarded José Ferrer Sala for “his contribution to Spanish economic and social development through several decades of work and effort, creating employment, internationalising his activities and contributing to improving his business environment and the country’s well-being, by excellently combining professional interests and social, artistic and cultural causes”.
