Towards sustainable shipping and logistics: Challenges and opportunities of 2025

On Friday, January 31, we will hold a conference in Madrid in collaboration with VASCO, under the title: Towards a sustainable maritime transport and logistics: Challenges and opportunities of 2025. The conference will be held at the headquarters of Deusto Business School – Campus Arrupe (C/ Mateo Inurria 39, entrance on Calle Dolores Sánchez Carrascosa, 5).

Within the framework of the conference, the results of the European project ReSChape (Reshaping supply chains for positive social impact) will be presented and dialogues will be held to address regulations and initiatives that will become effective during 2025 in relation to Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Waste, Emissions and other issues that will impact logistics and the maritime sector in particular.

The day will be face-to-face and will be broadcast via streaming as well. After the day, a catering will be provided where all attendees will be able to share and continue the dialogue.

9:30 h. Welcome: Asier Añibarro, Communication Director of Deusto Business Alumni and Olatz Landa, Project Manager, Derandein Fundazioa.

9:40 h. ReSChape Project, Alberto de la Calle Vicente, Director of the Department of Mechanics, Design and Industrial Organization, Faculty of Engineering, University of Deusto.

10:00 h. Dialogue with Jon Ander Herrero, CEO of VASCO Logistics Supply Chain.

10:20 h. Panel discussion: How will the challenges of sustainability 2025 affect maritime transport?

With the participation of Pablo Guerrero, Höegh Autoliners Spain, Mercedes Duch, Women’s International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA) Spain. Moderated by Olatz Landa, Derandein Fundazioa.

11:00 h. Closing and coffee/networking.
