The aim of this event is to discuss the funding opportunities for research projects offered by the European Commission on Health and Welfare issues for the coming years.

This conference is open to all those interested in health issues, and it is particularly aimed at all key stakeholders involved – researchers, companies and SMEs, workers in the health sector, healthcare system administrators, civil servant, politicians and authorities. Specifically, one of the aims of this conference is to strengthen the relationship between researchers, companies and users, as intersectoriality is one of the key elements that prevail in the assessments of the European Commission.

Some of the issues on medicine/customised healthcare that will be addressed include:

  • Active and healthy ageing.
  • Customised medicine and patient-centred interventions.
  • Information and Communication Technologies and the role of other technologies (for ex. engineering).
  • Health promotion and prevention.
  • Chronic diseases.

Speakers include:

  • Cristina Iturrioz, Vice-rector of Research and Transfer, University of Deusto.
  • Guillermo Dorronsoro, Dean of Deusto Business School.
  • Rafael Bengoa, Director of Deusto Business School Health and member of the Expert Committee of the European Commission.
  • Practical case study of university-company collaboration.
