A career in the third sector
Ane Ferrán Zubillaga holds a Ph.D. from the University of Deusto, a degree in Humanities (business area) and a diploma in Social Work from the School of Social Work in San Sebastian. She also holds a Master’s degree in Audiovisual, Business and Institutional Communication Management from the University of Deusto.
She is a professor at the University of Deusto at the San Sebastian campus, where she teaches Social Work Methodology (in Basque), Social Work in Organisations and Social Intervention Processes and Techniques (in Basque). She supervises curricular internships and undergraduate dissertations. She is currently Head of the Social and Human Sciences Department and Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences on the San Sebastian Campus.
She has developed her career as a social worker in the field of social action organisations (third sector) for two decades, where she has worked in areas related to training and volunteering management and international cooperation.
She is a member of the “Deusto Social Values” research team and is the Principal Researcher of the Elkar-EKIN team, a participatory action research project sponsored by the Guipuzcoa Provincial Council within the framework of the Etorkizuna Eraikiz Agreement. Her main research areas include the third sector, social inclusion, participation and methodologies such as participatory action research and service- learning.
