17th Blessed Brother Garate academic debate league
From 30 November to 2 December, the University of Deusto will bring together over 50 students from different universities at a debate league on the Environment organised by Deusto Campus Culture. The International University of Catalonia, Barcelona Autonomous University, Comillas Pontifical University, the University of Deusto and the University of the Basque Country will take part in the 17th Blessed Brother Garate academic debate league on the issue: Is it ethical to prioritise the environment over the right to development?
As in previous years, the Blessed Brother Garate league not only seeks to become a forum for competitive academic debate but also for shared learning and all-embracing growth for all participants (debaters, judges, speakers…)
The session will end with an open debate (Ágora) where all the participants can debate without the restrictions of the championship debate format, not to win a debate, but to draw some conclusions on the raised issue and to give their own opinions about it.
